Emergency Flood Response 2024 : Kavrepalanchok District

In the wake of devastating flood that struck in different places, Sowers Action Nepal stepped to aid the affected areas of Kavre district.  Total of 319 families with fully damaged homes from Kavre district were supported to help them rebuild their lives after devastating floods. The relief essentials such as Food, Portable Solar Lights, Blankets, and hygiene kits were distributed to the affected families of Panauti Municipality 11 & 12.

In the wake of devastating flood that struck in different places, Sowers Action Nepal stepped to aid the affected areas of lalitpur district.  Total of 78 families with fully damaged homes from lalitpur district were supported to help them rebuild their lives after devastating floods. The relief essentials such as Food, Portable Solar Lights, Blankets, and hygiene kits were distributed to the affected families of Lalitpur-14 and Godawari-06.

Shining a Light on Hope: Sowers Action Delivers Solar Lights to Landslide-Affected Beding Village

August 30,2024 | Sowers Action supported 40 portable solar lights to support the resilient families and students of Beding village in Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9, Dolakha district. Our Chairman, Acharya Pasang Wangdu, personally handed over the solar lights toWard Chairman Ngima Geli , marking a vital step in the ongoing relief efforts. 

Shining a Light on Hope: Sowers Action Delivers Solar Lights to Flood-Affected Thame Village

August 22,2024 | Sowers Action supported 150 portable solar lights to support the resilient families and students of Thame village in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-5, Solukhumbu District. These communities were significantly impacted by flash floods and mudslides triggered by a glacial lake outburst upstream on August 16, 2024.

Our Chairman, Acharya Pasang Wangdu, personally handed over the solar lights to local government representatives, marking a vital step in the ongoing relief efforts. These lights were transported to Faplu by truck and then airlifted to the affected areas by helicopter.

An informative session on UWC(United World Colleges) scholarships and the application process was conducted for students from Ngagyur Memorial School and Padmai Gatsal School. The session was led by Miss. Tenzin Dolma.

Grand Opening of Sowers Action Community Center

Kathmandu, Nepal – May 04, 2024: Sowers Action celebrated a momentous occasion on May 04, 2024, with the grand opening of the Sowers Action Community Center, situated in the heart of Jorpati 08, Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the organization, showcasing its unwavering dedication to fostering learning and community development.

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of three integral components of the center: the Danio Lau Building, the Winnie Lam Library, and the B & V Cafe. These facilities stand as pillars of opportunity, designed to empower individuals and promote collective growth within the community.

Esteemed guests, including prominent figures from Hong Kong and Nepal, graced the occasion with their presence. Among them were Winnie Lam – the donor, Brianna Hui – CEO of Sowers Action Hong Kong, and Sandra Tam, Volunteer of Sowers Action Hong Kong. Their participation underscored the international collaboration and shared commitment to social welfare and educational initiatives.

Binay Lama, Treasurer of the Social Welfare Council, delivered insightful remarks, emphasizing the impact of Sowers Action Nepal’s social welfare activities and extending heartfelt wishes for the organization’s continued success. His words resonated with the audience, affirming the importance of collective efforts in driving positive change.

The grand opening ceremony featured a series of events, including inspiring speeches, an immersive tour of the newly inaugurated facilities and a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony by Winnie Lam (Donor), Brianna Hui (Sowers Action HK CEO) and our esteemed Chairman, Acharya Pasang Wandi Sherpa. The Winnie Lam Library offers a treasure trove of knowledge, inviting individuals of all ages to embark on a journey of exploration and enlightenment.  Meanwhile, B & V Cafe, with its inviting ambiance, promises to be a hub for social interaction and culinary delights. Additionally, the Danio Lau Building will serve as a focal point for various community activities and learning opportunities.

The inauguration of these facilities marks the dawn of a new chapter in community development, where access to education, culture, and social engagement takes center stage. Sowers Action remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing minds, fostering relationships, and building a brighter future for all.

Charity trip | May 2023

With months of planning between Sowers Action Nepal and Sowers Action Hongkong, we successfully completed our charity trip for Nepal. We thank all the 19 participants for being part of our first charity tour in Nepal. The trip comprised of sightseeing and project involvement. For sightseeing, we visited Chitwan National park, Dhading and Pokhara; and for projects, we painted walls together with kids from CWARDS; and a game session with kids in Ngagyur Memorial school. We wish to contribute to Nepal’s tourism through charity tours like this in future as well and ask for your continous support. 

Meal Support for 700

Ngagyur Memorial School | 17 March 2023

As of today, we will support the daily meals for the Ngagyur Memorial school. Our chairman Mr. Pasang Wandi Sherpa; and Khenpo Tsering and Lopon Sangye, representatives of the school signed the 3-month meal project agreement.

We are immensely grateful to Sowers Action Hongkong for helping us bring this project to fruition.

FREE CHINESE CLASS AND MEAL SUPPORT PROJECT

Shree Jhirpu Secondary School | 7 March 2023 

Today, our chairman, Pasang Wangdu Sherpa representing Sowers Action Nepal and Sowers Action Hongkong; and Angchiring Sherpa representing Shree Jhirpu Secondary School signed an one year agreement to provide free Chinese class and Light afternoon meal program for the students. This program will be started from April 2023.
